Project Management Simulator
Business Case

The main learning outcomes focus on developing the four functions and skills required by a project manager to manage a project. The module will help the user to identify their strengths and weaknesses as a functional manager and allow them to develop the skills required for project management. The game allows the user to learn, practice and develop the following skills and competencies:

  • Leadership - Sense of ownership and mission - Seeing oneself as the individual responsible for problems and actions related to the program.
  • Achievement (Focus on Excellence) - Working to achieve the highest standards, while staffing the project with high-quality personnel.
  • Problem Solving - Developing means of collecting project status information beyond the routine methodologies.
  • Political Awareness - Identifying the key contacts, what they want, and how to work with them.

Background

The initial framework has been co- developed with the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) and assists in the development of requirements for projects. The next phase is to develop the project management module.
